Francesco Tabusso Biography

Tabusso Francesco (Sesto San Giovanni, 1930 - Turin, 2012) Francesco Tabusso trained at the studio of Felice Casorati and in 1954 he began his exhibition activity, presenting three of his works at the Venice Biennale. The artist's works are characterized by a co-presence of informal language and elements belonging to the poetic world. He was immediately noticed by critics, so much so that he won several prizes in competition exhibitions, organized after the Second World War in many Italian cities. In 1963 he met Ettore Gian Ferrari, who welcomed him into his prestigious gallery in Milan, following his activity for thirty years. In 1965 he participated in the IX Quadrennial of Rome and in '66 at the XXXIII Biennale of Venice, where his works combined in the polyptych "l'Atelier di via Salvecchio" were very successful. Subsequently he began collaborations with well-known figures of Italian literature such as Piero Chiara, Dino Buzzati, Mario Soldati, Stern and in 1975 he was called to create the altarpiece "Il Cantico delle Creature" for the Church of San Francesco al Fopponino in Milan, a work large sacred.
