Torquato Tamagnini (1886 - 1965) was an Italian sculptor, best known for the numerous monuments he created to honor the fallen of the Great War. He studied at the Accademia di San Luca in Rome and subsequently worked creating Art Nouveau bronzes. In 1921, he participated in the first Roman Biennial and the first Naples Biennial. Tamagnini received appreciation from General Diaz for having created a bronze plaque with the victory bulletin and an allegory with female figures, donated by the Roman amputees.
In 1922, Tamagnini founded the "Corinthia" art house in Rome, through which he started a serial workshop production and created many monuments in different Italian regions, in collaboration with Neapolitan and Roman foundries.
