Duccio Tessari Biography
Duccio Tessari, real name Amadeo Tessari, is a documentary director, operator and producer born in Genoa in 1926. At a young age, he began his professional career in the field of audiovisual documentation and film production. After the end of the Second World War, Tessari moved to Rome in the early 1950s, where he worked as assistant director to important directors such as Vittorio Cottafavi and Carmine Gallone.
Between 1959 and 1961, Duccio Tessari emerged as a screenwriter of mythological films, achieving greater recognition in his profession. In 1962, Tessari tried his hand at directing with the film "Arrivano i titani", thus becoming the director of numerous successful films, including "Il fornaretto di Venezia" (1963), "A pistol for Ringo" (1965 ), "For love? for magic" (1967) and "Zorro" (1975), directed with the French actor Alain Delon.
In the 80s, Duccio Tessari dedicated himself to the creation of television dramas, but abandoned television to bring the popular comic strip "Tex Willer" with the actor Giuliano Gemma to the big screen in 1985. "There was a castle with 40 dogs " (1990) was the last film directed by Tessari for the cinema.
