Nino Giovanni Tirinnanzi Biography

Tirinnanzi Nino Giovanni (Greve in Chianti, 1923-2002) Nino Giovanni Tirinnanzi was an Italian painter of the 20th century. He trained at the Art Institute of Florence until 1936, when he met Ottone Rosai, a fundamental figure in his career, who introduced him to the artistic environment of the Giubbe Rosse. It was an important occasion where he was able to meet intellectuals and writers such as Eugenio Montale, Elio Vittorini, Vasco Pratolini. In 1947 he exhibited for the first time at the “Il fiore” art gallery and in 1951 he participated in the Venice Biennale and the Rome Quadrennial. In 1953 he obtained the Olivetti prize at the 5th National Prize "Golfo della Spezia" and in 1954 he organized his first solo exhibition in Milan. In 2006 he had another solo show at the armory of Palazzo Vecchio for his 40-year career. Tirinnanzi's artistic language is characterized by the serenity of his compositions, the poetic light and delicate design of his paintings, exhibited in many private and public collections in Italy and abroad.
