In 1925 he was among the founders of the artistic current "Novecento", participating in the Permanente exhibitions in Milan in 1926 and 1929. In 1949-1950, Tosi joined the project of the important Verzocchi collection, on the theme of work, sending, in addition to a self-portrait, the work Terre arate . In 1951 the Municipality of Milan dedicated an anthological exhibition to him, rewarding him with a gold medal. Upon his death, the Venice Biennale dedicated a commemorative exhibition to him, displaying sixty works.
