Luigi Vaghi (1882 – 1967) is the founder of the most prestigious photographic company in Parma. In 1903 he began the business with the acronym “Vaghi & Carra”; in 1917, following the death of his partner, he set up his own business and three years later opened the headquarters in via Cavour. In 1922 Vaghi was appointed photographer of the Royal House, the following year he was awarded a gold medal at the International Exhibition in Turin. He is one of the first, in Italy, to dedicate himself to industrial photography. His interest in stylistic research, shapes, materials and production processes have always characterized his approach to the world of Design. Both during his school and working years he initiated collaborative projects with designers, architects and production companies in his geographical area, which allowed him to translate theory into practice. When developing a project he applies a multidisciplinary approach, starting from the idea of ​​the shape through all the development phases, the research of materials and their application in the production process on a serial scale. He has worked as a freelancer for several companies in different sectors: his experience covers a wide range of sectors such as home and office design, furniture and research studies on accessories for the world of fashion and jewelery . His interest and passion for photography, figurative arts and subsequently sculpture led him to infuse his works with his own expressiveness and communicative ability, distinguishing them with his personal stylistic touch.
