Vittorio Valabrega (1861 - 1952) founded the F.li Valabrega company in 1884, for which around 50 carpenters, sculptors, upholsterers and painters worked.
In the following years, the Fratelli Valabrega company participated in numerous exhibitions, including Turin in 1898, Paris in 1900, Milan in 1906 and Turin in 1911, obtaining numerous awards and silver and gold medals.
After the First World War, the company continued to grow, reaching around 100 employees.
In 1925, Ernesto Valabrega joined the management of the company, bringing a radical renewal in 1928, with the creation of a series of solid walnut furniture with beautiful polished surfaces, colored aniline in discreet shades of green, red and blue .
The racial laws significantly influenced the fate of the company. First, the name was changed to Mobilart and then, in 1944, Ernesto Valabrega was deported to an extermination camp in Poland from where he never returned.
In 1948, Vittorio Valabrega decided to stop production and the management of the company passed into the hands of his daughter-in-law Lilla Momigliano Valabrega, who mainly dealt with furniture and antiques.
In 1985, a private American foundation based in Miami purchased several floral-style pieces of furniture, including the famous mantelpiece that won the gold medal in Paris in 1900, to display in the Museum of Italian Floral Art in Miami, Florida , USA.
In 1953, Lilla was joined by her son Vittorio, who participated in numerous antique exhibitions from the 1950s onwards.
