Georges Vanrijk or George Van Rijck was born in Belgium in 1933. He was a renowned furniture maker, interior designer and industrial designer. His career as a photographer began at the age of 36. During the 1970s and 1980s, Vanrijk achieved considerable international fame in the fashion field, becoming one of Belgium's best photographers. He has created numerous catalogs for both well-known and lesser-known fashion brands. In the 1960s, Van Rijck devoted himself to designing chairs, particularly for the Beaufort company. The chairs feature a tubular metal frame and fabric-covered seats, featuring clean lines and a smooth transition from legs to armrests. Some models also include a built-in ashtray on one of the armrests, which can be pulled out for the user's convenience.
