Giuseppe Veneziano was born in Mazzarino (CL) on 22 February 1971. He graduated in architecture in 1996 from the University of Palermo. During his university studies he collaborated for various newspapers (Giornale di Sicilia, La Sicilia, Stilos) as a cartoonist and illustrator. In 1998 he moved to Riesi (CL), where he opened an architecture studio. In parallel with his activity as an architect he creates comics for some publishing houses (Paruzzo Editore, Il Capitello Editore). From 2000 to 2002 he was Teaching Director and Professor of Art History at the “Giorgio de Chirico” Academy of Fine Arts in Riesi. In 2002 he moved permanently to Milan, where he currently lives, to dedicate himself exclusively to his activity as a painter. In 2006 he held his first important exhibition in the “Luciano Inga Pin” space in Milan. In 2007 he participated in the VI St. Petersburg Biennial; in 2008 he was among the twenty artists invited to represent Italy at the “Artâthlos” exhibition on the occasion of the XXXIX Olympic Games in Beijing; in 2009 he participated in the IV Prague Biennial. Since 2010 he began an exclusive collaboration with the Contini Gallery in Venice. in 2011 he was invited to the Italian Pavilion at the 54th Venice Biennale. He is recognized by critics and trade magazines as one of the greatest exponents of "Italian New Pop" and of the "Italian Newbrow" group.
