Vetreria Artistica Schiavon Biography
The Reno Schiavon company made a significant contribution to the development of the fascinating world of glass and in particular of Murano glass chandeliers which, at the end of the nineties, transformed the ancient family factory into a learning center for art of glass making. For many talented young locals, this choice of the master glassmaker represents an unprecedented growth opportunity, thanks to which the entire Murano production offer evolves with new lines and processing techniques. Thus styles diversify and specific designs are born that are destined to conquer the world, to furnish any modern or classic environment. Among the apprentice glassmakers of the time, today there are several who have managed to set up their own independent workshop and find fortune in the market of this sector which seems to know no time. The brothers Mattia and Silvio Toso showed considerable talent in working together, although they came from different technical and artistic backgrounds. The first, in fact, was formed under the example of Pino Signoretto, the main artistic reference in the field between the 80s and 90s. Here Mattia's ability to create Murano glass sculptures matured. While Silvio acquired his first tools while serving in two furnaces, the Pauly CVM and the Archimede Seguso, both characterized by a strong classical style, formed in a centuries-old high-level activity, handed down through generations.
Both craftsmen were able to perfect their production technique under the guidance of the master glassmaker Reno Schiavon who dedicated his energies and his art to them.
