Cesare Vianello Biography
Cesare Vianello was born in Venice in 1862 and attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice from 1874 to 1881. His teacher was Giacomo Favretto, who introduced him to genre painting set in Venice. Vianello chose to paint anecdotal scenes that take place in the interiors of antique dealers or humble houses, but also in eighteenth-century courtyards. Over time, he also specialized in outdoor storytelling, in Venetian squares and bridges. His genre works conquered a large share of the national and international market of the time and he exhibited in Venice, Turin, Rome, Florence, Palermo, Milan, London and San Francisco. Subsequently, Vianello dedicated himself to landscape painting with notable results, paying close attention to atmospheric and luminous variations. His biography is still little known and the date of his death is not known with certainty, which however occurred around 1920.
