Vibi Torino Biography
VI.BI. (1952 - 1972) On 3 May 1952 Giuseppe Vallini, in partnership with Giuseppe Vaccon, founded a factory, "VI.BI.", for the production, purchase, import and export of modern earthenware, ceramics of use and art, with headquarters in Turin in via Talucchi 43. In July 1955 the company, thanks to the success achieved by its production, expanded to the point of employing around fifty workers and had to move to larger premises in via Romagnano 37. In these years, Mario Mesini and Mario Brunetti collaborated with the factory, leaving "VI.BI." in 1956. and they founded, again in Turin, the "Ariele" and Clara Garesio ceramic factory. In 1956 the company transformed into a general partnership and in September of the same year Vallini was confirmed as artistic director of the company. In 1961 the manufacturing laboratories were transferred to the new headquarters in Strada Antica di Collegno 196. In the 1960s, among the company's collaborators we found the decorating ceramist Elsa Lagorio. The factory, which in the last years of activity branded its ceramics "New Style", stopped production and closed its doors in 1972.
