Antonio Zanchi (Este, 6 December 1631 – Venice, 12 April 1722) was an Italian painter. The painter established himself on the Italian artistic scene, right from his first productions, as one of the most prominent exponents of the poetics of the "tenebrosi", in the wake of Luca Giordano and Giovan Battista Langetti. The closeness to this artistic trend is expressed in his art in a certain chiaroscuro violence and in dramatic compositional settings. These characteristics will end up being diluted towards Zanchi's late maturity, starting from the 1680s, when he begins to make use of a fairly bright colorism which will attenuate his commitment as a dark painter. Towards the last production, in the same way, even the pictorial compositions will become less loose and more forced, the result of artificial and not very organic attempts to continue towards new artistic models.
