Gustave Keller founded the homonymous manufacture in 1856, immediately achieving great market success, also obtaining a gold and silver medal at the Paris Expositions of 1867 and 1878. The Parisian manufacture continued to win prizes also in the subsequent management by the Keller brothers, in 1889 and 1900. Initially located in Paris in Rue de Turbigo 65, the Keller factory (later known as "Keller fils et gendre successeurs") moved in 1891 to Rue de Joubert 22.
The Keller goldsmith's shop was able to get high-ranking and international clients, including many European courts of the time, as that of the last Tsar of Russia Nicholas II Romanov
