Important dish resting on a disc and with slightly flaring rim. The interior and the external cavetto glazed with peculiar "sacrificial red", characterized by a pseudo craquelé enhancing the item with darker red veins. The base bears an rarely incised "da Ming Xuande nian zhi" mark. Ming blue and white wares from the 15th century have been extensively imitated during the Qianlong period, less frequent are the reproduction of the monochorome wares. Provenance: Venetian private collection, in Italy since the early 20th century.
