Inscribed on the base: "Non vi si pensa quanto sangue costa"; at the back ancient inscription "Il Bronzino" and seal trace in wax; The painting carried to the back of the wooden panel on which the canvas was previously applied a note about the rescue of the same in 1945 during the war by Wolf V. Knorr and probably by Wedekind Schuttle.
