The extraordinary nature of this piece of furniture, beyond its historical and artistic importance, is given by the very rare example in which Lucio Fontana adopts a minimalist rigor in the composition. This distinguishes it much more than it has happened in other experiments in decorative art with a more conventionally informal style.
