Mounted on editorial card (48.5x32 cm). First of the two series published in St. Petersburg in 1862 (12 prints in total). Each panel shows 16 models of heads representing the various racial types, sculpted by J.M. Heuser under the direction of the German biologist and anthropologist Karl Ernst Bear (1792-1876). The work won an award at the Education in London exhibition in 1862.
