"This is a typical painting from the Venetian (i.e. pre-futurist) period.
In it the ancestry of his master, Beppe Ciardi, is evident, precisely in terms of the softness and brightness of the pictorial material, and not least in the use of glazes. It will be on these solid pictorial foundations that Baldessari will then move on to Futurism, where he will shine by virtue of the high quality of his painting.
From the stylistic comparisons carried out, the work can be dated between the end of 1913 and the beginning of 1914." M. Scudiero
