The covers signed by Bolaffi Arte. Complete collection (109 tables)
Complete collection comprising 109 graphic works by various artists, each of which bears the Bolaffi arte embossed stamp, the edition on the back (each work has a different edition) and the handwritten signature except for 6 signed in plate or with the "cachet d'atelier ": Sonia Delaunay, Euterpe (double); Giorgio De Chirico, Letter O; Joan Mirò, Letter M; Man Ray, letter R; Mario Radice, Toro.
In the mid-1960s the bimonthly "Bolaffi, the art magazine" then "Bolaffiarte", launched the attractive and happy novelty of author covers, which ended when, at the beginning of 1982, the periodical, becoming monthly, it became "Artemondadori" and the covers were stripped of their monographic specificity. The covers of about one hundred artists (including Mirò, Moore, De Chirico, Marino Marini, Botero, Merz, Paolini, Beuys, Warhol, Rauschenberg, Burden, Allen Jones ...) expressly invited by Bolaffi to produce an original work intended to dress the facade of each issue of the periodical, allow the reconstruction of twenty years of Italian and international artistic experiences. It was the magazine that proposed the themes to be developed: the Alphabet, the Arabic Numbers, the Deadly Sins, the Liberal Arts, the Muses, the Five Senses, the Colors of the Iris, the Seeds and Figures of Playing Cards and the Signs of the Zodiac, the Seasons. The publisher had a unique and unrepeatable edition of each work produced, of 5000 copies signed, numbered and bearing the dry stamp of the publishing house intended for members of the "Club dei 5000". The techniques used were photolithography, screen printing, relief and in some cases collage. The collection included in this lot is complete with all the works attributable to the thematic series (99 tables, one of which is double) + 10 out of series and has been collected over the years by a single Milanese collector registered in the magazine.
