Florit Biography
It all began with Vittorio Florit, a skilled carpenter and wood carver, who passionately dedicated himself to his craft by opening a business in Trieste. Thanks to his skill, he created important works, including the furnishings for the Podestà Hall of the Palazzo del Comune of Trieste, the Bancone delle Pescheria Nuova, as well as the furnishings for the Roman Hall and the Byzantine Hall of Palazzo Artelli in Trieste. Despite his premature death, he managed to pass on his passion for his work to his son Aldo, who opened the "Antica Casa Del Mobile Florit" shop in 1945. In this shop the furniture produced in the family carpentry factory, Aldo Florit Arredamenti, was sold. Over the course of fifty years, the factory stood out for its artistic and design capabilities, as well as meticulous workmanship. In addition to supplying furnishings to numerous shops and private individuals in the city, the factory also created furniture and took care of maintenance for transatlantic liners and Lloyd Adriatico ships, as well as for the main city banks and for the management floor in the new Lloyd Adriatico headquarters in Trieste. Aldo's daughter, Laura Florit, has carried on the legacy of her grandfather and father, managing the company together with her husband Paolo Mosetti and increasing the importance of the shop, carefully selecting the furniture produced in-house and by other Italian manufacturers . The shop has established itself as a highly appreciated point of reference in Trieste. It is currently managed by the children and grandchildren of the Florit-Mosetti family, who have contributed to giving greater visibility to the work even beyond national borders, bringing Italian taste to antique and prestigious furnishings. The attention is paid to custom-made furniture, home accessories and objects, always offering quality products made in Italy.
