Rauschenberg Robert (Port Arthur, 1925 - Captiva Island, 2008) Robert Rauschenberg approached the artistic world, not limiting himself only to painting. The artist's works are characterized by the way he combines collage elements, with hand-painted parts and images in free lattice compositions. In the 1960s he experimented with drawings and paintings with transfer and in 1962 he met Andy Warhol and the silk-screen method applied to painting. Critics of the time began to identify the style used by Rauschenberg with pop art, which was spreading on the New York scene. In 1964 he arrived in Europe and the experiences gained during trips to India, Jerusalem and France can be recognized in the works created between 1970 and 1976. Rauschenberg won at the 1964 Venice Biennale, thus declaring the success of American pop art.
