Elegant sculpture of Lobi male figure in the classic upright posture, static and threatening, almost martial, with the careful and ready look, this Bateba was carved to represent an ancestor or, more likely, to be put to guard the family altar and to protect its owner from forces, such as strgoneria, that could damage it.
